SUBAUDITION signed to Auerbach Tonträger - 2005/11/25
The young Finnish band SUBAUDITION has just signed a contract over five albums with Auerbach. Following a self-released mini-CD, Antti Korpinen and Roope Niemelä along with some guest musicians have recorded nine harmonious and balanced songs to be featured on their debut album, "The Scope", which is scheduled for release in spring, 2006. The mysteriousness of their music is reflected in the band's name which has been chosen very carefully by the two multi-instrumentalists: in Subaudition, there are not just the clearly apparent sounds, but also a "ghostly play" that develops beyond the readily audible- almost dusk-like melodies, created by numerous instruments, tranquil vocals, all woven together by an extraordinary sensitivity. "With 'The Scope' we're going right to the core of ourselves," Antii explains self-consciously. "It's all heart-blood." But even he is at a loss when it comes to describe their music just by words. "I'm perfectly aware that these days the term 'cross-over' could be attached to most bands, nevertheless, few of them combine styles on a level as deep as we do,"says the young Finnish musician who prefers to conjure images to depict the far-floating sounds of piano, acoustic guitar, saxophone, or Hammond organ. "Imagine a spring morning, how the mist intoxicates you as you walk towards the lake shore. The water surface isn't covered but with a mere inch of ice. You think to yourself that any morning now the ice will be gone, the waters will be flowing boundlessly. As you inhale the cool spring air once again, you realise that the answer has been in plain sight all along - a moment of release."
Already with their demo, SUBAUDITION have garnered comparisons to Sigur Rós and Tenhi -- not, however, because they copy these bands, but because there is a similarity regarding an uncommonly open kind of music. With "The Scope", the two Finnish musicians free themselves effortlessly from any external influences, but on the other hand, they might evoke memories of all those pioneers of music whose interest wasn't in the all too obvious and superficial, but rather in the essence deep below - the "Sub-audible" so to say.

DORNENREICH "Hexenwind" available now! - 2005/11/09
"Magic changes misty-true / Magic is stirring, be aware"
Nearly five years after the release of "Her von welken Nächten", DORNENREICH released their long-announced new album "Hexenwind" on November 18th, 2005. Content-wise, this new work will see a mystical deepening of "Her von welken Nächten" and the track "Reime faucht der Märchensarg."
Initially planned as an archaic and raw essay on the nightside of Nature, "Hexenwind" has undergone countless changes in the course of the years. The intensity so characteristic of DORNENREICH has been preserved, but he musical direction has changed a lot. Of course, DORNENREICH remain firmly rooted in their very own world of enchanted and dream-like sounds. Their new approach is a different one, though.
While "Her von welken Nächten" was tempestuous, harrowing, and eternally young, "Hexenwind" is mature, wise, and equable. Starting from a base that has consciously been kept simple, the new tracks invite their listeners to join in a melancholic and sometimes even hypnotic journey.
Never have DORNENREICH´s music and lyrics corresponded better than on "Hexenwind", resulting in an extremely imaginative treatment of the album's message. The key to this message is fantasy. "To us, 'Hexenwind' is about an archaic and vital condition - a coming to yourself and an opening of yourself", Evíga tells us.
As we see it, "Hexenwind" is a metaphor for a special consciousness, for just like the wind - an invisible reality in constant change and only being noticeable by its effects on the environment - human ideas, emotions, dreams, and wishes remain unseen at first, yet they constitute an important pillar of our deeds within which they materialize - and they should be free like the wind...
The figure of the witch to us is the personification of fantasy in all its polarities. For as the word "witch" conjures images of evil-minded creatures from fairy-tales and dreams as well as of people in tune with the wisdom of Nature, so our human capacities of fantasy and imagination can be equally devouring and nourishing, destructive and creative.
"Hexenwind" has many different messages. In keeping with the album's subjects, we would like to invite each listener to find his or her own inspired access to "Hexenwind".
The first edition of Hexenwind will be released as Digipak edition
"Exercise in fantasy, make use of the ancient art."

TENHI album re-scheduled - 2005/10/13
The new TENHI album "Maaäet" is re-scheduled to early 2006. The album once again sees them combining dark Finnish folk music with Progressive-Rock and Post-Rock influences, but this time their music has a less shamanic feel than on their previous outing, "Väre" instead, TENHI are closer to the approach of their debut album, "Kauan." On "Maaäet", TENHI use more vocals than ever before, and they place additional emphasis on instruments such as piano or violin.
